Visitor Access to the Research Center

Other CUNY College and Non-CUNY College Users

Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff from other CUNY campuses may borrow up to 5 books from the J-School library (14 day loan period). We do not lend out multimedia materials to other CUNY campuses. We also have a two-hour time limit on the use of our Research Center computers. They must present a current, valid ID card from their home campus with a library barcode from their home library. As well, J-School students, faculty and staff may use their current, validated J-School ID with a library barcode, to borrow books from other CUNY libraries.

Users are allowed access to the Research Center, they do not have access to the rest of the J-School campus.

The Research Center does not allow non-CUNY students/faculty/staff to use our facilities (unless there is prior approval or METRO referral cards in hand)

In order to comply with this, our security desk will check for a current and validated CUNY-issued identification card. If the patron’s status is in question, the security desk must call the Research Center’s main line (x7728/30) upon allowing arrival into the Research Center.

If the user is not current and validated, they will not be allowed to use the facilities, and will be asked to leave the building.
