This guide will help you better navigate through all of the resources that we have to offer!

Navigating the Research Center virtually

First and foremost, hoping that everyone is keeping safe and healthy during this time. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, The Research Center will be closed until further notice.

Databases and Journals

As always, our databases and journals are available via your CUNYID.  For more information on CUNY Login (which is already used for Blackboard, CUNYfirst, Microsoft Office 365, and more applications) here:

Bloomberg Terminal Access

We encourage students to avoid their usage of the Bloomberg Terminal, unless absolutely necessary, and information cannot be found elsewhere, during the library closure due to COVID-19.

We ask that you make a 30 min appointment via the Bloomberg Access Calendar below: Appointments can be made Monday-Friday 11am-4pm for the J-School Community only.

Please wait until Public Safety has cleared you for approval before using the terminal.

Terminal will be disinfected between uses, and limit to one person at a time.

Public Safety will allow access to the terminal only if you have made an appointment.

Collection Access Restrictions

All CUNY libraries are now closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As of March 13, all overdue fines will be waived.

All existing loans will automatically be renewed.

As of March 16, there will be no loans from our physical collection.

This includes ILL (interlibrary loan requests) and reserves until further notice.

If you need to return library materials, please refer to the Returning Library Materials box.

Stay tuned for information regarding reserves for the Fall 2020 semester.

We will be researching options to obtain digital copies for your needs.

Returning Library Materials

While the Research Center remains closed, you may need to return your library materials before we reopen in the future. Please keep in mind that all items from the Research Center circulating collection will be renewed automatically and fines will be waived. This policy is CUNY-wide until further notice. If you can wait until the Research Center opens, please hold on to your library materials, and return at that time.
