This guide will help you better navigate through all of the resources that we have to offer!

Navigating the Research Center virtually

Starting on August 16, 2021, The Research Center at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY will be open for limited in-person services.

We will be open to the J-School community only.

Accessing E-Resources Remotely

Please use this A-Z link to access our databases off-campus.

Please use this full text search to access e-journals. 

J-School students, faculty and staff will use their CUNY ID to authenticate from off-campus.

For alumni and special patrons, please read this blog post for access information. 

Bloomberg Terminal Access

As of August 16, 2021, the Research Center will be open for limited in-person services. 

If you'd like to use the Bloomberg Terminal, we ask that you make an appointment before using the Bloomberg Terminal in the Research Center.  To make an appointment, please use the following link:

You will receive an email with your appointment details. 

If you no longer need the appointment, please cancel or reschedule. 

Please limit to one user at the terminal, and follow all health and safety protocols upon entering the Research Center.

You must be logged in with your J-School account to access.

Collection Access Restrictions

We will begin circulating materials on a limited basis, starting August 16, 2021. You will only be allowed to access your home campus until further notice.

For the Fall 2021 semester, the J-School Research Center will allow limited reserve and stack access for the J-School community.

As of March 13, all overdue fines will be waived. All existing loans will automatically be renewed.

To find e-reserves, please use the following link. Print reserves will return for the Fall 2021 semester on a limited basis.

If you still have reserve needs, please read our reserve guide and/or email Tinamarie Vella for assistance.

Returning Library Materials

As of August 16, 2021, the Research Center will begin limited in-person services for the J-School community. We will accept returned materials via CLICS or postal mail for other CUNY campuses.
