Navigating the Research Center virtually

First and foremost, hoping that everyone is keeping safe and healthy during this time. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, The Research Center's physical space will be closed until further notice.

Please use this full text search to access e-journals.

J-School students, faculty and staff will use their CUNY ID to authenticate from off-campus.

For alumni and special patrons, please read this blog post for access information.

Bloomberg Terminal Access

We encourage students to avoid their usage of the Bloomberg Terminal, unless absolutely necessary, and information cannot be found elsewhere, during the library closure due to COVID-19.

We ask that you make a 30 min appointment via the Bloomberg Access Calendar. If you no longer need the appointment, please cancel or reschedule. Please complete the following steps to access campus:

  • Please  download the Everbridge Health Screening App  It looks like this:  Everbridge.jpeg
  • Complete the health screening questionnaire (symptom checker) on the day you are coming to campus prior to your arrival. After completing the questionnaire, the app will notify you within 1-2 minutes if you have been approved to return to campus or not.
  • Please enter through the 230 West 41st street entrance as the 40th street entrance is closed. Once cleared to enter the building, please proceed to the 3rd floor public safety desk. The on duty officer will verify that you have completed the health screening process and will allow access to the Bloomberg Terminal in the Research Center.
  • Please reach out to public.safety@journalism.cuny.edu should you have any questions prior to your arrival.

The terminal will be disinfected between uses, and limited to one person at a time.

Public Safety will allow access to the terminal only if you have made an appointment.
