Alumni services
Alumni are welcome to visit the Research Center and access parts of the collection with alumni credentials:
- To request alumni credentials please email circulation@journalism.cuny.edu or come in to the Research Center.
- Alumni have access to the print materials from our Research Center collection, and provides borrowing privileges from only the Newmark J-School Research Center. It does not let you borrow from other CUNY libraries.
- Alumni can use the wireless network on campus using the QR codes available at the security desk.
- To gain these alumni privileges, you must be in good standing with the Research Center and other CUNY libraries, meaning all CUNY library fines must be paid, and your account must be cleared. If you have any questions, please email circulation@journalism.cuny.edu.
Alumni online database access
You have access to the following databases with your alumni login and barcode. Your login is first name and last name (FirstNameLastName). If you need to know your login information, please email circulation@journalism.cuny.edu. The login screen is shown below, you will select the Library Login (not CUNY Login):
Once you click on the Library Login, you will be prompted to enter your login and barcode:

- Access World News This link opens in a new windowThousands of U.S. (local and national) and global news sources, including radio and tv news transcripts, most available online exclusively through NewsBank. Includes Acceda Noticias and PDF image editions.
- Data Axle This link opens in a new windowThe ReferenceUSA database contains, in module format, information on households, businesses and more.
- Statista This link opens in a new windowStatista is a searchable database of statistics, studies, dossiers, infographics and more, from over 100,000 vetted sources.
